Malcolm Sleet (Managing Director)
Malcolm has overseen the continued evolution and progression of Rubicon since 1976. He is still deeply involved in researching new business opportunities for additional vertical markets for which our latest generic software would be ideally suited.
Living in the countryside, over the years Malcolm has been involved in a variety of country pursuits and currently enjoys “down-time” with his horse Mungo a 17.1 hand ex-eventer.
Andrew Hood (Director)
Andrew has been with Rubicon for over 20 years, and is well known within the customer base. With a background in software development he has a detailed knowledge of the systems we supply, but also of the Fresh Produce industry. Following on from playing a part in developing Rubicon’s original Fresh Produce ERP system, his role evolved in to implementations and project management, and now as a Director of the company he continues to liaise with customers on a daily basis and oversee implementations, but also is focused on demonstrating our solutions to prospective customers.
Outside of work he enjoys walking, eating out and trying to fit in a few new and different holiday destinations each year.
Frances Halstead (Director)
Frances is a long standing member (19 years+) of the Rubicon team with responsibility for the Support and Technical Department. Her role also encompasses all Pre-Sales activities, Account Management and recruitment. Coming from a purchasing background, she enjoys developing the portfolio of integrated ‘third party’ hardware and software products including our new Voice Integrated WMS.
Her spare time is mostly spent walking her handsome (but occasionally disobedient!) Cocker Spaniel “Sweep”.
Michael Lawes (Director)
Michael joined Rubicon as a Software Developer over 20 years ago. During this time he has worked on numerous ERP software development projects, from discussions with end users as part of the programming and creation team, to design, training, implementation and support. Michael subsequently spent 8 years as Software Development Manager, and now as a Director he is keen to continue to push Rubicon’s software forward, to offer industries straight forward ERP software solutions using the latest technologies.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys coastal walking, gardening and bowling. He was once a regular at the cinema, watching the latest sci-fi and political thrillers, but now with the appearance of a young family, he often attends short cartoon screenings about a little pig! However, he still maintains a great passion for the latest technologies and how they can be used to forward software applications.
Mark Clabburn (Development Manager)
Mark started working for Rubicon back in 1993 as a Trainee Programmer and over this time has gained a broad knowledge in all areas of the company and is now the Development Manager in charge of the dedicated Development Team.
Outside of work he enjoys 10 Pin Bowling and is part of a team in a local league. He also likes searching for bargains at local Auctions and Car Boots (in the warmer months) and in his spare time likes to research the different branches of his family tree.
Lee Smith (Project Leader)
Currently a Project Leader, Lee has been working for Rubicon for 14 years. In this role he is able to interact with our customers and understand how each specific business can make the best use of the various software and hardware solutions we offer. He joined as an Analyst programmer, and was able to use his background in COBOL and Visual Basic programming to assist with the development of the Windows based ENTERPRISE system. Throughout his professional life he has been involved with many different programming and technical disciplines including COBOL, Micro Focus Dialog, VB.Net, Crystal Reports and various Web based languages such as HTML/CSS and PHP.
Outside of work, he is a keen distance runner, enjoy riding his motorcycle (when it starts!) and is also a passionate Martial Artist, holding two black belts.
Ben Young (Support Manager)
Ben has been with Rubicon for just over 8 years and currently holds the position of Support Team Leader. His previous experience includes being a Rubicon ERP system user within the Fresh Produce industry, moving to internal support & projects. Using the ERP System before joining Rubicon has given Ben an invaluable knowledge & experience to support our extensive customer base.
Outside of work, his spare time is taken up by his young family, who are his greatest achievement.
Julian Brett (Senior Technical Analyst)
Julian started as a programmer with Rubicon, and is now the Senior Technical Analyst. Having been at Rubicon for almost 20 years, he is familiar with most customer configurations. Julian enjoys visiting customer sites, both old and new, to see the variety of configurations and to get to know what works for each customer. He also has an ability to recall customers network IP addresses which some colleagues and customers find quite amusing!
Away from work, he has three young daughters so spare time is very much taken up spending time with the family.
